Dirk Schmidt (CEO)
Dirk has extensive experience in POS systems, payments, and the hospitality and restaurant industry. In various leadership roles, he developed go-to-market strategies, managed product portfolios, and drove strategic partnerships. At POS providers SIDES, Lightspeed, and (formerly) GASTROFIX, as well as at the hotel portal HRS, he led commercial operations in the DACH region and EMEA. Prior to that, Dirk spent over 15 years at Novell, most recently as General Manager & Vice President EMEA. Since March 2026, Dirk has led orderbird as CEO, driving the further development of its strategic direction and strengthening its market position in the DACH region.

Philipp Nowakowski (CTO)
As CEO and CTO of various companies, Philipp was responsible for the implementation of over 100 apps and services, primarily in the areas of FinTech, mobility, and TravelTech. In 2015, he founded the Berlin-based digital agency YND, which developed digital products for Volkswagen, Lufthansa, and Trade Republic. He used his business informatics studies at the University of Mannheim to deepen his expertise in software development and product strategy. Philipp has repeatedly supported startups in their early stages as CTO with technical development. At orderbird, he drives the further development of the technological infrastructure and scaling of the product architecture as CTO.
